OMH Disaster Relief Fund:

As local residents know, Hurricane Florence was much more devastating to the Jacksonville area than initially anticipated. During the storm, ER visits alone were at 50-60 per day, and have increased to over 200 per day in the weeks to follow. In the days leading up, during, and following Hurricane Florence our brave staff, providers, and volunteers provided crucial medical services to the community.

While we were busy caring for the community, our hospital’s facilities took quite a hit. We are currently aware of $1 million in damages to the hospital room and ceiling alone, and there has been additional damage to important equipment, medical offices, and ancillary buildings. We are rapidly assessing the extent of the damage, but it will take us weeks to fully understand the impacts of Hurricane Florence on our hospital, community, and state.

This is a community hospital, and in times of need the public depends on us to provide quality healthcare. We are proud to have been there for the community during Hurricane Florence and look forward to doing the same for future disasters—but to do so we need your help. We have created the OMH Strong Disaster Relief Fund to help us effectively serve and care for the community—with 100% of donations going towards supporting and rebuilding the hospital.

With your help, we will continue to restore the health of Jacksonville by providing excellent patient health services to all who need it.
